A Guide to Back For the Gods! on Kickstarter

On February 17, the pre-orders open on Kickstarter for the highly anticipated board game by Trevor Benjamin, Brett J. Gilbert and David Thompson – For the Gods!

For the Gods! is a strategic area control game in which every stone shapes your path to victory. The rules are simple: Sail the seas to establish new temples or strengthen existing ones. Along the way, collect God stones and unleash their divine powers at the right moment. With 12 unique God powers, each game offers fresh strategies and dynamic gameplay, ensuring high variability.

Step-by-Step: How to join the Kickstarter campaign

2. Pledge on Kickstarter

What does pledging or backing a game mean? It basically means you pre-order a game on Kickstarter – a crowdfunding platform where you can support creative projects (by “backing” them) to help bring them to life. You pre-order the game on the campaign page, get charged when the campaign successfully finishes and will be asked for your shipping information when the games are ready to be sent from the factory.

Backing a game on Kickstarter means you get the game before it hits the local shops and often you get a lot of exclusives with it that you’ll never find in stores!

Once the campaign is live, choose a reward, or pledge level, from the right-hand side of the page.

A Kickstarter campaign usually offers different pledges. Every pledge level includes a list of items you’ll get if you pledge at that level. In the upcoming For the Gods! campaign, we are only offering a gorgeous Limited Edition of this game. You can see what’s so nice about in the What’s in the Box section.

Click ‘Continue’, check the amount, and click ‘Pledge’.

You have now selected the game you want to pre-order. Only at the end of the campaign, on March 10th, your credit card will be charged for your order.

A couple of weeks after the campaign ends, you’ll get an email inviting you to the pledge manager, where you can manage your pledge. In the pledge manager, you can confirm or upgrade your pledge level, pay for shipping, and confirm your delivery address. You can check out the shipping cost estimates and more information about shipping zones on the Kickstarter campaign page (under “Shipping”). Your accurate shipping cost will be calculated in the pledge manager after the Kickstarter campaign ends.

Once the campaign is finished, we will start mass production of the games. During this time, we will keep you posted about the progress with Kickstarter updates. You will receive these automatically in your inbox when you’re a backer. Once the games have been printed, they will be shipped all over the world and you will receive an email with your tracking number.
